Saint Nicholas and the three children brought back to life

Saint Nicholas and the three children brought back to life

Many of the wonders attributed to St Nicholas, patron saint of children and students, have to do with children.

It is said that Nicholas was travelling to the Council of Nicaea. After stopping in a tavern, he was presented with a fish dish, according to the innkeeper. Inspired by God, he realized that it was human flesh. He asked to be accompanied to see how that “fish” was preserved. Escorted by the innkeeper, he realized that in the barrels, there were the bodies of three children preserved in salt

Nicholas stopped to pray and miraculously, the flesh of the children reattached to the bones and their bodies came back to life. This prodigy led the innkeeper to conversion and repentance.
